Its an absolute honor to be a photographer

There is nothing quite like witnessing the most important moments in peoples life's, or being asked to photographed a rescued pet who has made a remarkable transformation, or the just the awe that is nature's majesty.

Being called to witness all that is extraordinary in what is an otherwise ordinary existence is what drives me to photography.

Before I even begin to photograph a subject, I learn its story. In not all cases is the subject able to tell me in words, but when one quiets their mind they find that all manner of creatures find a way to communicate. It is that very essence, that I look for in my model. I do my very best to make sure that spark shines though in my work.

In late spring, a little chipmunk with very curious eyes paid me a visit while I worked away on the porch. He was at first mostly interested in my laptop, my trail mix, he even dipped his little furry head into my tea cup.

And he just kept coming back day after day to see what I was about. He sometimes perched on my lap as I read a book, or he scampered around in front of my cats hungrily eyeballing him from other side of the living room windows. His eyes were a mix of curious, precocious and a dash of Imp. I swear he could look right into my soul some days. I started to realize where the idea of garden fairies may have came from.

Its now early January and the furry menance has been hibernating for several weeks. I hope to see him soon. I've got 50lbs of peanuts in my garage. (It was on sale).
